Sheep at our solar sites
Meet the sheep helping LG&E and KU support renewable energy through a sustainability partnership that promotes responsible land use and environmental stewardship.
We're powered by the flock
At select LG&E and KU solar facilities, sheep play an important role in supporting renewable energy operations. Instead of relying solely on traditional mowing or equipment, we work with local partners like Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill to use sheep grazing as a natural, low-impact solution.
This approach supports renewable energy production while eliminating the emissions, fuel use, and noise from gasoline-powered mowing — and it helps keep land healthy and productive.

Watch the flock at work
When the flock is actively grazing, live cameras offer a real-time look at how sheep support renewable energy at our solar facilities.
(Live cam availability varies based on grazing schedules and seasonal activity.)
