Safely repair or reconnect damaged home electric service
Storms or other weather events may damage your home's electric service connection. Be familiar with your home equipment and the correct repair process to safely reconnect service.
Steps to safely restore your home’s electric service
Know who needs to repair what
Repairs to damaged equipment and subsequent inspections are the homeowner’s responsibility. They must be complete before LG&E and KU can safely reconnect service. The party responsible for repairing specific electrical equipment is based on the service-connection type – above-ground, mobile or manufactured home, or underground.

Always seek a licensed electrician
Contact a licensed electrician to repair damaged electrical equipment. The Better Business Bureau can provide a list of approved electrical repair contractors.
Do not attempt to fix the damage
Self-repair to damaged electrical equipment can create safety hazards and delay power restoration.
