About rates and tariffs
Rates and tariffs are the official, Kentucky Public Service Commission (KPSC)-approved documents that explain how electric and natural gas service is priced and billed. These documents are filed with and approved by the KPSC and apply to all LG&E and KU customers.
In simple terms, tariffs outline:
What customers are charged for energy and service
How charges are calculated
When adjustments may appear on a bill
While tariffs are written in regulatory language, they are intended to provide transparency into how customer bills are structured.
